|Mission & Vision
With God's help, we at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church seek to:
- Pursue a common life, consistent with our Anglican heritage that involves Eucharist, teaching, fellowship and prayer.
- Witness to the Gospel by word and example.
- Recognize and serve Christ in all persons.
- Promote justice, peace and love.
The community of disciples at St. Andrew's strives to be a vital and visible Episcopal presence in the Greater Lake Chelan area. Bound together in love, with Christ as our central core, we are formed by Eucharistic worship, study, work, fellowship, and common prayer. The call to hospitality is one predominant aspect of our ministry; we seek to be welcoming and inclusive without regard to any differences we may perceive in one another. We welcome children in our midst and want them in worship; we find their unique contributions to the sights and sounds of worship to be a joyous, cherished gift. We endeavor to be instruments of God's peace, to seek and serve Christ in all people, to reconcile ourselves to God's will for us both together and as individuals.
St. Andrew's parish is blessed with a wonderful historic log church building. Episcopal services have continued without interruption in our log church since 1898. The building is located on the main street of Chelan and serves as a centerpiece of the downtown area. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the church building has been the focal point for countless photographs and is a place of interest for the vast array of visitors to the area. The carillon and bell tower of St. Andrew's are part of the fabric of the community as the hours are marked and bells ring out with spiritual music daily, year in and year out. Our courtyard provides a well-utilized walkway from Woodin Avenue (the main street of Chelan) to Riverwalk Park. In the summer we have Sunday worship services in the courtyard. God has graced us with many opportunities to be a visible sign of Grace, a thriving Christian endeavor in the very midst of a secular and commercial world
St. Andrew's is a venture in faith, as we form disciples, strive to answer the call to be imitators of Christ, one of God's voices in the Lake Chelan Valley, good stewards of all that God has given us and have a good time doing it. We like to have fun and even in the midst of hard work we enjoy one another. We embrace newcomers and visitors, recognizing there is always room around the table for all who seek to share in the inheritance as God's children.
Come and see.
