St. Andrew’s Schedules
“Back to Church Sunday”
(CHELAN, WA) In a celebration of renewed faith and community, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church has set September 12 as the inaugural Back to Church Sunday service at 10 a.m.
“Due to changing state regulations and an effort to accommodate as many people as possible, we’ve made this a community-wide invitation,” Rev. Vicar Linda Mayer said. “So, to make it easier, and to allow our younger extended church families to attend, we will have a streaming broadcast on Zoom.”
“St. Andrew’s has been a big part of the celebration of our Savior’s message in Chelan for more than 100 years,” Rev. Mayer added. “Although seating in the church is limited to 100 worshippers, we want as many people to Zoom in as possible for this important event.”
As in the past few months since live services have been reinstituted, there will be live acoustic and organ music arranged by music director Hannah Hubbard and choral presentations from soloist Marci Hale in the historic log church. A champagne reception in the Great Hall will follow immediately after the service.
St. Andrew's Church, built more than 110 years ago, is the oldest permanent structure in Chelan. The church became the centerpiece around which the community grew to eventually become a vibrant city.
